Event summary

The Australian Alpine Ascent (AAA) Xtreme Triathlon on 14 February 2026 is an endurance race through rugged terrain, freezing waters, and punishing elevation gains in the Australian Alps.

This event is part of the 2026 XTRI World Tour.

The 3.8km swim is a 2 lap course in Lake Jindabyne, a breathtaking freshwater lake located in the Snowy Mountains. It is one of the largest reservoirs in the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Scheme and sits at an elevation of 918 meters.

The 187km bike leg is from Jindabyne Village to Perisher Village winds through the breathtaking mountains with over 3,000m of elevation gain.

The gruelling 42.2km run leg winds up from Charlotte Pass Village, to Charlotte Pass and to the start of the Summit Trail before beginning a 10km climb to the peak of Mt Kosciuszko (Australia’s highest peak). Once at the peak, competitors can take a moment to soak it all in before they make the final 10km descent to the finish line at Charlotte Pass Village.
